Recently I have been engaged in a debate on the offensive use of an edge weapon. It has long been my belief that there are plenty of knife systems out there with great concepts but they often add in nonfunctional student retention filler and an elitist subculture mentality combined with sub par application and limited conceptual understanding of the reality of a confrontation and to me the end result is that they often become relatively ineffective for actually enhancing your ability to survive a violent confrontation. After much thought on this topic I decided to put the Knife Subculture ideology to the test.

It is important to understand that statistically the person who lands the first strikes is more likely to win the conflict. The problem with striking first is knowing when to launch your attack and being able to justify it to your conscience and the authorities if you are forced to do so.

            Every person has had a time in their life when they state “I had a feeling something wasn’t right”. The problem with most people is they ignore their intuition and follow their logic or allow their ego to force them to go against what they know is making them feel unusual.
