Every person has had a time in their life when they state “I had a feeling something wasn’t right”. The problem with most people is they ignore their intuition and follow their logic or allow their ego to force them to go against what they know is making them feel unusual.
Intuition in a spiritual sense can be looked at as a psychic feeling of sense. A more scientific approach to intuition is pattern recognition which can be very in-depth taking into account culture, time, place, weather, past experiences, ect.. You know with intuition, if you are walking on an empty road in the middle of the night in a bad neighborhood and a person walking on your side of the road stares at you and will not yield their position or when you cross over to the other side they also cross, you maybe in trouble. This is not normal behavior for that particular situation. If you notice your child or sibling is acting out of character around your uncle or your brother you may just dismiss it as you feeling weird or something is bothering them and it maybe true at that moment something could be is bothering them that is unrelated to your uncle or brother. But statistically relatives and close family friends are typically the ones abusing children. The most common thing we hear is “I never thought my brother/sister would do such a thing”. It’s sad but most people ignore the signs and dismiss their feelings. Intuition is not only for pre-contact though. Intuition is used during combat as well. We strike with instinct and intuition, any other way is cognitive and is slower then instinctual. This is not to say we completely blank out and fight with no thought, there are always brief moments of clarity and we use these moments to assess to rest of the environment and the current threat level to justify the force continuum. By understanding this and training in this manor we can easily and with out interruption flow in and out of Cognitive and Instinctual behavior. Most people understand this but never acknowledge it you and we have all heard many people say “I know I should have listen to myself, I knew that was going to happen "BUT"” or even in sporting events “I know I should have swung earlier but”. You must listen to your intuition, whether it is your subconscious mind analyzing patterns and working faster then your conscious mind, or it is an angel on your shoulder, the fact remains instinct and intuition are two of our great human gifts so start using them.
