If you've read anything at all about Reality Based Self Defense (RBSD), you'll probably know at least three things: RBSD is the most exciting way to engage in Personal Protection, RBSD can be really, I mean really, easy to learn and lastly it is by far the most effective method of preparing someone to manage conflict.
PROACTIVEThe word "proactive" was originally coined by the psychiatrist Victor Frankl in his book Man's Search for Meaning to describe a person who took responsibility for his or her life, rather than looking for causes in outside circumstances or other people. Much of this theory was formed in Nazi concentration camps where Frankl lost his wife, mother, father and family, but decided that even under the worst circumstances, people can make and find meaning. The term was later popularized in the business world in Stephen Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Though he used the word in Frankl's original sense, the word has come to mean "to act before a situation becomes a source of confrontation or crisis" vs. after the fact. It is frequently misused to mean simply "active" the opposite of passive. CONFLICTConflict is a state of opposition, disagreement or incompatibility between two or more people or groups of people, which is sometimes characterized by physical violence. SOLUTIONSThe method or process of solving a problem or the answer to or disposition of a problem. At Proactive Conflict Solutions our training method is designed so that we can give you all the tools you need in a few hours of your very first session to immediately and effectively protect yourself in a life threatening situation. After which you will begin to hone your skills to the point where conflict is no longer an issue, you simply manage situations before they even become dangerous. You make more friends then enemies and walk and talk with confidence. We recognize that every student is an individual with differing needs and we address each student accordingly so that they may create their own unique solutions to their everyday problems. Proactive Conflict Solutions Curricullum:It is important to note that Proactive Conflict Solutions has a very unique curriculum structure. There are no belts or ranks and no one individual is better then the next, we recognize that each individual has something unique to offer and we work in a co-operative non-competitive environment that fosters solidarity and develops skills at a higher pace then any other training methodology.
Although there is no structure by way of rank or superiority there is a structure of acquiring knowledge. The system was developed on a conceptual level and broken up into phases and components. Each component is compatible with the next and all phases blend into each other so in the end a complete mental picture of human conflict and all it's permutations have been created for each individual.
The Phases of our curriculum are as follows - Phase one
- Phase two
- Phase three
Extensive Training:After the completion of the first phase of training you are ready to move on to the more complete picture of a confrontation where you will learn the following. - Pre-Contact
- Contact
- Post-Contact
- Multiple attackers
- Weapons
